Fix Bad Credit In 5 Easy Steps

Do you need to fix your credit because of something that happened in the past to hurt your credit profile. Maybe you were late on a couple bills, or got a collection account. These negative marks on your credit report can really hurt you. You may have to pay higher interest rates on your credit card balances and may also have to pay higher premiums on your insurance. And when you really need a new home or vehicle, you may have trouble getting approved for the loan at all.

Personally, I think it would be cool if there was an “Easy” button that we could push to remove these negative items. But, there's not.

However, while many “experts” claim that the only way you can fix your credit is with time; in reality...nothing could be further from the truth. In reality, time is only one factor which can help improve a credit report. The biggest factor for me was simply searching my way through all the information out there to find one good, accurate credit repair course that would show me the steps to take.

But, to begin, I recommend you find out exactly what negative marks are showing on your credit reports. Until you’ve looked at your reports, you have no idea what, if anything, actually needs to be fixed.

Fortunately, this is the easiest part of the process. You can order your credit reports from many different places, but I suggest www.annualcreditreport.com because you can get them there for free. This website is operated by the three major credit bureaus-- TransUnion, Experian, and Equifax—so you know it can be trusted. They will try to sell you additional services, but you don't have to buy them.

Make sure you get your report from each of the three credit bureaus, since they will vary in the information that they are reporting about you. Then, carefully review your credit reports and highlight any incorrect information as well as any negative marks.

What's the purpose? Well, under a consumer protection law known as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) the only negative marks which can remain on your credit report is not that which is accurate...but what can be PROVED AS ACCURATE.

The good news is that through the FCRA your credit score can most likely be improved dramatically in a very short period of time (That other factor that we don’t want to wait for) with only a modest amount of "work" on your part.

The bad news is that while the actual "work" will take very little of your time, it is vital that you have good information on "how" to go about it. Remember that I mentioned that some “experts” think that the only way you can fix your credit is with time? Clearly then the other information floating around out there, written by these “experts,” can sometimes be just as bad as their advise for you to just sit around and wait.

So, possibly the most important factor of all, in your attempt to fix your credit, is finding the right "expert," that really knows what they are writing about, and has the latest inside techniques and procedures to get you the results you want.

In an attempt to find a fix for my own bad credit I have looked at and studied multiple courses, some of which were free and some of which cost over a hundred dollars. 3. Get your free credit reports to see what the real situation is for you
4. Get a good credit repair course to learn how to do it right from the beginning
5. Take action and do the recommended steps listed in the course
